Outlook Web Access
Outlook Web Access (OWA) for Exchange allows users to access their mailboxes located on an Exchange server using a Web interface. Users are also able to use their Web browser to access Public Folders. OWA can simplify remote access to Exchange-based information when off campus (at home or traveling). It allows the user to access their e-mail using public computers at conferences and "Cyber Cafe" type environments without needing additional installed software (VPN).The Richmond OWA client uses HTTPS (secure socket layer) as the application layer protocol to access the information store. The user does not have to configure a mail client application to access the Exchange Server. Web browsers can be used without any extra configuration to access Exchange from any OS platform.
