Create a Spam Filter in Outlook 2010

Note: The process for creating spam filters in Outlook 2010 is shown below, however the process is very similar for spam filters in Outlook 2013.

  1. In Outlook select the Home tab.
  2. Click on the Rules icon.
  3. Click Create Rule.

  4. Check the Subject Contains box and enter X-Spam-Level: ssss. (There is a single space between the colon and the "s")

  5. Check the Move the item to folder box and click Select Folder....

  6. Click the New... button.

  7. Highlight Junk E-mail and type Spam in the "Name" field.

  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Advanced Options....

  10. Check the with specified words in message header box.

  11. Under Step 2, click specific words.

  12. Type X-Spam-Level: ssss. (There is a single space between the colon and the "s")
  13. Click Add.
  14. Click OK.

  15. Click Next.
  16. Verify your rule description.

    Verify it is correct

  17. Click Finish.
