iTunes Backup and Restore

iTunes can be used to backup your iOS devices, such as iPhones, iPads, and iPods, or restore your information to those devices. Backups to iTunes preserve your device settings, the Camera Roll (or saved pictures), and other important data. More information about what is stored in a backup can be found in Apple Support.

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update, backup, or restore.
  3. Connect your device to your computer.
  4. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices
