The Telecommunications and Multimedia and Support Services (TMSS) group offers a wide variety of services and support options to the University of Richmond campus community. The group supports presentation technology and equipment installed in teaching and learning environments, as well as meeting spaces throughout the campus. The group also provides videotaping services, web streaming, and general event support as requested.

TMSS also supports digital signage needs and electronic building directories throughout the campus. Departments interested in installing new signage locations or exploring the use of building directories should contact the TMSS office at 804-287-6500, or extension 6500 on campus.
Classroom Technology Support
The TMSS group installs and maintains the technology used in classrooms and meeting spaces on campus, as well as University of Richmond off-campus locations, including UR Downtown. The group supports approximately 160 classrooms and labs, and another 40 meeting spaces that are equipped with presentation technology, including audio and video switching systems, media playback, and AMX control systems. Many spaces are equipped to meet special needs, such as video collaboration with remote participants, film screening, and higher end video projection. All spaces are also equipped to support remote interface from TMSS technicians. Classroom technology support is provided Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am until 7:30 pm. Telephones are provided in every classroom space, and service calls may be placed to extension 6300 (Multimedia “hotline”).

TMSS Videotaping & Technical Support
TMSS offers videotaping services to academic departments utilizing classroom spaces during our normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services are not subject to labor charges, but should be requested as far in advance as possible to ensure technical resources are available.
Requests for videotaping and technical support services for events, conferences, and non-academic meetings are offered as resources permit, and may be subject to labor charges and fees, depending on the date and time. The sponsoring department is responsible for obtaining all the pertinent permissions to record and use the video asset.
