Installing SOPHOS Anti-Virus Software
NEW STUDENTS: Please remove all antivirus sotware from your system before installing Sophos. (Directions below)
RETURNING STUDENTS: we have changed the antivirus software and are now using Sophos Antivirus. Please follow instructions below.

(2000/XP/Vista Users only)
Before installing Sophos, follow all removal instructions below to completely remove Norton Anti-Virus Live Update AND Norton Anti-Virus.
- Select Start

- Select Control Panel (Some computers have Control Panel inside Settings)
- Double Click Add or Remove Programs icon

- Scroll down until you see your Symantec AntiVirus

- Make sure Anti Virus Software is selected (so that it appears highlighted
- Click the Remove button.

- Then remove Live Update by scrolling to software and selecting.

- Click the Remove button.

Install the University of Richmond Sophos
- Reboot your computer (Click Start > Select Restart>Click OK

- From here you will be given links to download and install Sophos:
- XP Users [ON CAMPUS]-Click Here
- Vista Users [ON CAMPUS]-Click Here
- [OFF CAMPUS]-Go to https://wwws.richmond.edu/software
- Follow all default instructions for install wizard:
- After clicking on the appropriate link above, at prompt click RUN

- Click RUN again

- When directed press ANY KEY

- When directed press ANY KEY again

- After clicking on the appropriate link above, at prompt click RUN
STUDENTS
After restarting and logged back into Windows, open the web browser and go to https://wwws.richmond.edu/compreg to complete the computer registration process.
