Connect to the Wireless Network
All users must have an active University network account (NetID and password) to access "urwin," the wireless network. Visitors who wish to access the wireless network must request a "guest" account to be created for them.
Wireless cards and devices must be registered before accessing the network. When you initially access the wireless network, you should connect to the "Richmond" network. Open a browser window and you will be redirected to UR Computer Registration. You will need to enter your NetID and password and click continue. The system will register your wireless hardware onto our network. This process can take up to one minute, so please be patient.
Once your wireless card has been registered, it will return a "Successful Computer Registration" page along with instructions for configuring your wireless adapter to join the "urwin" wireless network. The "urwin" network is for authenticated, registered users who wish to access University resources or the Internet wirelessly.
Wireless Configuration and Instructions for "urwin"
It is highly recommended that you register your laptop on the wired network first in order to ensure that all patches, anti-virus software, and drivers are up to date before proceeding with the wireless configuration.
