Mobile Services – Department Sponsored

Faculty and staff may take advantage of discounted rates and dedicated in-house client support by requesting standard mobile, smartphone, or mobile broadband service through the Telecom Department.

Available services

  • Standard mobile phones with voice and text messaging.
  • Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile smartphones with voice, text messaging, and data features.
  • Mobile broadband services for laptops.
  • Mobile broadband for iPads and tablets.

Requirements

  • Requests for University mobiles services are submitted by the department head or authorized department representative to the Telecom office.
  • University-provided phones are intended for business purposes only.
  • All associated costs are billed to the department index via the Telecom department.
  • The department head may request the port in and/or assumption of liability of an employee’s personally owned mobile device and service. Due to the variety of mobile carriers and services available, each request is handled on a case-by-case basis.

Cost

The cost varies depending on the device, voice and data services, and add-on features.

International Services

 AT&T is the world standard for international travel, but many Verizon phones will work on international networks with the appropriate international features.
