BlackBerry Activation & Support

Students can set up their BlackBerry to check personal e-mail.

Faculty and staff wishing to acquire BlackBerry services through the University must review the Application for Services and submit a Usage Policy and Agreement to Kathy Monday, Vice President of Information Services. For a listing of the voice and data plans associated with BlackBerry services, please contact Telecom.

BlackBerry© Enterprise Activation Instructions for Users

  1. Call your service provider to update the information on your device. Users must have a BlackBerry Enterprise data plan for successful activation.
  2. Charge your device completely
  3. Go to a location with maximum service coverage (indicated by bars, EDGE, 1x, etc.)
  4. Press the BlackBerry menu button blackberry menu buttonand select "Options > Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation"
  5. Enter your complete University of Richmond e-mail address (jsmith@richmond.edu)
  6. Enter the password that the Help Desk sends via e-mail
  7. Press the BlackBerry menu button blackberry menu button and select "Activate"
  8. Wait, installation takes time
