iPhone and iPod Touch Configuration

If you are unable to complete the steps below bring your device into the Help Desk. You will need to be present to enter your NetID, or you must provide the information for the technician that is configuring these services.
Exchange 2007 E-mail Configuration
- Navigate to "Settings/Mail," "Contacts," "Calendars"
- Choose "Add Account"
- Select the top option "Microsoft Exchange."
- Enter the following:
E-mail: [NetID]@richmond.edu
Username: RICHMOND\[NetID]
Password: [NetID password]
Description: U of R - Choose "next" at the top-right corner of the screen
- The iPhone will receive a certificate that it cannot verify. Choose "accept"
- Fill in the server field that appears on the next screen with the following:
- Server: exchangemail.richmond.edu
- SSL: On
- Set the items to synchronize.
- Mail should be set to "on"
- Contacts will not pull down the entire LDAP database. It pulls down only the additional contacts or groups that the user configured if set to "on."
- When enabled, Calendars will synchronize the user's personal calendar and reflect any scheduled events with reminders if they are set.
- Choose "save" at the top-right of the screen
SpiderMail Configuration
- Go to settings and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars."
- Choose "Add Account" then select "Other."
- Choose "Add Mail Account".
- Enter the following:
Name: First and Last Name
Address: [NetID]@richmond.edu
Password: E-mail password
Description: U of R - Choose "Save."
- On the New Accounts page select "IMAP."
- Enter the following:
Incoming Mail Server: mail.richmond.edu
Username: [NetID]
Outgoing Server: smtp.richmond.edu
Username/Password: Leave blank - Choose "Save."
802.1x Wireless Configuration
All wireless devices will need to be registered on the Richmond network.
- Fill out the information on this page to register your iPhone/iPod Touch device on the network.
- Wait for a response from the Help Desk to inform you when the configuration has taken place.
- Once the device is registered, you will need to allow up to 30 minutes for the settings to take effect.
