Long Distance Plans & Calling

Long Distance Telephone Service

New low domestic rates for students -- 10 cents a minute-all day, every day.

Authorization Codes

All students are issued a personal and confidential authorization code. An authorization code is required to make long-distance calls that incur toll charges. Do not let others use your code and do not share the number.

Each student has access to their room voicemail box, pass code, and Authorization Code via BannerWeb. If you cannot access your Telecom information, please contact us at x6500 or telecom@richmond.edu

Dialing Instructions

Long distance and toll free: Dial 9 + 1 + (XXX) XXX-XXXX
Wait for the three beeps, then the dial tone, then enter your authorization code.

International Dialing

Dial 9 + 011 + Country Code + City Code (not always necessary) + number.
Billing rates vary; please check with Telecom if you have any questions.

International Rates

Call Telecom for international rates as they may vary daily. On average, we charge about 60 percent below the published tariff rates for AT&T.
