Wireless Certificate Update

9/17/2019

Information Services will be replacing the certificate that is used to verify the authenticity of the wireless network ‘urwin’ on Tuesday, September 17th. After this change you may be prompted to accept and trust the new certificate on your device the next time you connect to urwin. The effect on your wireless connectivity will vary by the device and its specific configuration.

The majority of University managed Windows and macOS computers will not be affected. However, personal macOS computers and iOS devices, such as iPads and iPhones, will likely prompt for acceptance of the new certificate. The certificate has a name of “cppm.richmond.edu” and it is safe to accept this new certificate. Depending on the type of Android device and version of Android OS installed, you may be prompted to accept the new certificate.
