Blackboard Support Changes

Effective Monday, July 1st, Information Services has assumed the primary responsibility associated with managing the University’s enterprise learning management system, Blackboard. Over 80% of UR faculty use Blackboard for course materials, assignment submissions, online discussions, reflective journaling, tests/quizzes, and posting grades.

Many of the support logistics that you are already familiar with will continue to function in the same manner. John Wheeler, who is part of the Academic Computing Services team, is now in the role of Blackboard Administrator. If you have questions about Blackboard, or would like to report a service issue, you may contact us via phone at 804-287-6860, or extension 6860 on campus; Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You may also reach us via email at Information is also available on the IS website at

Please note that Blackboard may be unavailable every third Friday night of the month for 2-4 hours beginning at 10 pm for scheduled system maintenance.
