Install AnyConnect VPN Client for Windows

Beginning October 1: DUO for VPN

To protect against phishing and other exploits of stolen passwords, Information Services is implementing Duo Security two-factor authentication for faculty, staff, and student use of our campus VPN.  Currently, individuals use only their NetID and password to connect to the VPN. Two-factor authentication (2FA) strengthens security by requiring two factors to verify your identity, such as something you know (NetID/password) plus something you have (mobile device/app).

Learn more and enroll your device with DUO

  1. Navigate to the Software Download page and login with your NetID and Password.

  5. Once AnyConnect is installed, you can search for AnyConnect in Start. We recommend right clicking on the icon and choosing "Pin this program to taskbar" to permanently save it to your taskbar. The first time you run AnyConnect, you will need to enter the server address: cipher.richmond.edu/duo
  6. Once the VPN is configured, you should be able to connect to it using Duo for VPN
