Professor Rafael de Sá's Research Group

Professor de Sá has several computing processes that support his research. First, he runs elaborate evolutionary analysis as well as population level to assess cryptic species. These analyses require large computing clusters as well as training and expertise on running those analyses, and he utilizes resources at other institutions through collaborations. He also does work with HPC workstations to analyze anatomical data from 3D scans of frog specimens.

Among the things that Professor de Sá has learned as the most challenging in working in computation involves the availability of HPC, the overall training required to do such work, and particularly the training on running evolutionary analyses.
