New Event Ticketing System Coming

The University of Richmond has selected a new event registration and ticketing solution for University sponsored events. The new system will first replace the Modlin Center’s current platform, which no longer meets their needs. It will also consolidate various smaller systems currently in use, becoming the ticket system for most University events except Athletics. The goal is to implement a single, cost-effective solution that meets the needs of diverse campus events and improves the overall event experience. 

Over the summer, the Modlin Center worked with Information Services and nine departments to procure the system that best meets campus needs. Spektrix was selected in late August. Pending contract negotiations in November, a rolling implementation across all affected departments is planned, with go live for Modlin set for January 1, 2026.

Paul Brohan, Executive Director of the Modlin Center says, “Modlin Center for the Arts will activate Spektrix as its new ticketing system in time to support Modlin’s 30th anniversary in 2026-2027. The Spektrix ticketing system will provide easier, faster, simpler ticketing and event registration processes for Modlin patrons and the UR campus. Spektrix will provide an easier and more intuitive process of reserving seating for UR students and faculty requiring student attendance at Modlin events. The Spektrix ticketing system will ensure a more robust and transparent system for Modlin’s student box office staff to provide improved customer service for the campus and community.”
